Obsession4Fashion giving you an opportunity to meet Martina from M&M Showroom a little bit closer thanks to an interview with her which just landed on our platform. Who is her inspiration? What is she doing in her spare time besides blogging? Which brand is her favourite once?  Read our interview with Martina to find out the answers.

First of all, we would like to say that we are more than happy to have you in our Obsession team and it’s pleasure to meet you. We hope you enjoying our collaboration like we do.

Obsession4Fashion: Describe yourself and your blog in one sentence to our readers.

Martina: Sophisticated, a little edgy and chic.

O4F: How did you get into blogging? What inspired you to start your own blog?

M: We have started blogging two years ago when I came up with and an idea of how you can find celebrity looks in retail stores. Eventually, our work developed to a blog and we added our hallmark to it. A few months after doing celebrity looks we started doing street style looks because it wasn’t really present on our streets yet.

O4F: Do you have any professional help or did you created the blog yourself?

M: We needed professional help only with the formation of our website. Everything that is presented on it is our work. Styling, makeup, hair styling, photography, editing, and writing.

O4F: For how long you already blogging?

M: Two years ago we started posting celebrity looks on WordPress and Instagram. Receiving positive feedback and starting with street style posts made us think that creating our own website should be the next step.

O4F: From where did your blog name/nickname?

M: M&M was created out of our names’ initials (Martina & Mateja). Showroom was added because we wanted to create a place on the Web, where all our work on how and where to find affordable celebrity looks and must-have pieces would be collected.

O4F: Where would you like to be in blogging five years from now?

M: I would like to be at a café, casually having a cup of coffee and chatting with Olivia Palermo.

O4F: How would you describe your personal and blogging style?

M: My personal style is exactly the same as my presented blogging style. Casual, slightly sophisticated, including simple cuts and minimalistic colors that you can wear to any occasion.

O4F: Who was your first style icon? Is there a person who is fashion inspiration to you?

M: My biggest inspiration is Olivia Palermo. I like her style because it’s feminine, classic and sophisticated, yet it includes different cuts and materials at the same time.

O4F: Have you met anyone interesting/famous on your blogging journey?

M: Not just yet. Remember, five years from now I’ll be having coffee with Olivia.

O4F: Did you have any funny situation with blogging?

M: Of course, there was a lot of them. Mostly because of people’s reactions during our photo shoots in town and changing clothes in the car. I remember one time when we barely started shooting and my brand new Liu Jo pants ripped right on my butt!

O4F: How much time do you spend on blogging?

M: I spend the biggest amount of time on preparations for photo shoots and later with editing photographs. It can take several hours or even days.

O4F: Is it your profession or just hobby?

M: So far, it is only a hobby although business opportunities are slowly showing up. We live in an environment where blogging is barely developing, so it takes a lot of patience and perseverance to succeed.

O4F: Would you encourage other people to make their own blog?

M: Sure, I would encourage anyone that is willing to have their own blog because it’s a way of expressing yourself through accomplishing your dreams.

O4F: Can you give them some tips which you learned already?

M: Blogging is fun, but not easy. You must be persistent, invest a lot of time and effort and most importantly, you have to be true to yourself and present yourself to your readers and followers in that way.

O4F: What would you say that is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging?

M: The biggest challenge is being different from others and allocating a lot of time to editing and keeping up with blogging in order to not be forgotten by your readers.

O4F: What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger?

M: It is my pleasure when I can in some ways help my readers when someone is in a dilemma and needs advice on how to dress.

O4F: What is your favourite fashion brand?

M: I’m in love with ZARA and I reckon that this is a piece heaven on earth.

O4F: What are 3 of your favourite statement pieces?

M: Shoes, blazers, and sunglasses.

O4F: Are you cooperating with any fashion brands? Can you tell me about few sources from where you get products for review on your site?

M: There are not many domestic brands to cooperate with here in Slovenia. Moreover, marketing your brand through bloggers has only begun recently. We’ve collaborated with two brands so far. With a Serbian fashion house Luna and professional hair cosmetics Keune.

O4F: Do you have your favourite blogger? If yes, why?

A: My favourite fashion bloggers are Olivia Palermo and Wendy Nguyen (Wendy’s Lookbook) because they are the only ones I can identify with.

O4F: What do you think is the most frustrating aspect of blogging?

M: What frustrates me the most is the environment because, as I said before, blogging is still not as popular here as abroad. Consequently, it is really hard to find business opportunities with blogging.

O4F: Let’s change a topic a little bit from blogging.

O4F: What you like to do in your spare time besides blogging?

M: In my free time I love creating and learning photography non-professionally. I also dedicate a lot of time to organising so-called Swap Parties. These are events where women can exchange clothes, mingle, have their hair and makeup done and have a photo shoot with professional photographers.

O4F: You are from Slovenia, how would you encourage people to visit your country?

M: Slovenia is a very beautiful country that offers a lot of stunning places to visit. I think everyone should visit Ljubljana and Bled at least once.

O4F: Favourite movie?

M: One Day is the movie that has left a lasting impression on me.

O4F: Favourite music?

M: I listen to almost every genre because music is an indispensable part of my every day.

O4F: You are going for a one year into space, what 3 things are you taking?

M: I would take Wi-Fi, my phone and a good cup of coffee.

O4F: What your biggest Obsession?

M: My biggest obsessions are shoes and sunglasses.

O4F: Are you happy for being a part of Obsession4Fashion?

M: We are extremely happy to be part of Obsession4Fashion and to be able to share and expand our blog among fashion enthusiasts.

Thank you, Martina!
